A short bonus episode recorded at the after party for the Guides Association for New York City (GANYC) Apple Awards. Why are we celebrating? Because we won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Radio Program or Podcast (Audio/Spoken Word). Long title for a cool honor to receive! In this episode we do a little celebrating as we wait for our drinks to arrive. Joanna brought along a few friends from the bar, and we were joined by past guests Chet Lenczewski (episode 11 about beer business) and Francine Simmons (episode 8 on her fashion career). Plus a quick chat with our friend DeeAnne Gorman, the president of the Greater Astoria Historical Society. A highlight of the night was chatting with The Bowery Boys, Tom and Greg, who were fantastic as the show hosts!
The audio quality isn’t the greatest in this episode because we recorded it live at the Chelsea Bell on Eighth Avenue. We are very honored to win this award from GANYC. We met several people at the show who will be future guests on the Big Show. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated, you’re all winners and we’ll follow you. Thanks for listening to our show.
